Global Food Security IRC Lunchtime Convesations
Delighted to be joining the amazing Miriam Remshard for for this event. Abstract below:
This talk will bring together two complementary perspectives on how to enable meaningful climate action. One speaker will explore the challenges and opportunities of transitioning towards healthy and sustainable diets, drawing on recent research and reflections on consumption patterns, and barriers and levers to change. The other speaker will examine how even individuals concerned about climate change tend to hold misperceptions about which behaviours most effectively reduce carbon emissions, systematically overestimating the impacts of low-impact actions (e.g., recycling) and underestimating high-impact actions (e.g., eating a plant-based diet), while also exploring psychological causes of these misperceptions and approaches for correcting them and fostering more impactful climate action. Together, the speakers will engage in dialogue on how transformative change can be accelerated, followed by an open Q&A with the audience.

Event One
I am delighted to take part in the Cambridge Sustainable Food event at the Cambridge Festival this year. I will be on a really exciting panel of contributors talking about my research, and following that taking part in a panel discussion with audience Q&A about all things food and sustainability.
